Expanding Global Collaboration with Startups at CES 2025

Hyundai Motor Group's open innovation platform, ZER01NE, participated in the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to expand collaboration opportunities with global startups. The ZER01NE booth was filled with innovative technologies from domestic and international startups with strong global competitiveness.

Marking its third consecutive appearance at CES since 2023, ZER01NE leveraged the global stage to showcase its open innovation initiatives. Hyundai Motor Group’s global open innovation hub, Hyundai CRADLE, also participated to share insights and trends in cutting-edge technologies. With CRADLE hubs in the U.S., Germany, Israel, China, and Singapore, Hyundai Motor Group has been identifying promising startups worldwide.
ZER01NE set up its exhibition space at the Eureka Park in the Venetian Expo, a dedicated exhibition hall for startups at CES. This year, ZER01NE presented 10 startups and their key technologies under themes such as mobility, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Startups supported by ZER01NE, Hyundai CRADLE, and the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation’s H-OnDream program were featured, highlighting Hyundai Motor Group’s global efforts to discover and support innovative companies.

These technologies enhance safety by monitoring drivers and passengers in real time, offering precise facial recognition even under challenging conditions like wearing masks or sunglasses.

MADDE: SiC Component Manufacturing via 3D Printing
Specializing in 3D printing, MADDE showcased its innovations in manufacturing silicon carbide (SiC) components for industries such as semiconductors, space, and nuclear energy. MADDE's proprietary binder jet 3D printing significantly reduces production time and cost compared to traditional manufacturing methods.

Terracle: Chemical Recycling of Waste Plastics
Terracle demonstrated its depolymerization technology, which breaks down PET plastics into raw materials like TPA (terephthalic acid) and EG (ethylene glycol). Visitors explored the process and saw applications like recycled seat belts made from this technology.
